Executive Director

Martin L. (Marty) White

Marty currently serves as executive director for Our Neighbor Incorporated, located in Gainesville Georgia, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire young adults, who are challenged with disabilities to grow towards their maximum independence and greatest potential to find purpose for their lives. Our Neighbor Inc. provides opportunities for independence through affordable, accessible homes and apartments specific to the needs of the disabled.

Prior to joining Our Neighbor, Marty was the chief executive officer for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in Virginia, whose operations was chosen as the top food bank in the nation for 2009. Marty also served as Chairman of the Board for the Federation of Virginia Food Banks. Prior to his food bank career, Marty served as the executive director of the Staunton Augusta Chamber of Commerce and spent over 25 years in the media business working in the newspaper and television field.

Marty is engaged to Kay Blackstock from Gainesville and has one son and one daughter and two grandsons. Marty was born in Lynchburg Virginia and now resides in Gainesville.
